Carrickfergus/ Ards/ Cooke/ Donaghadee 12-60 Enniskillen
The Enniskillen U18 girls faced a challenging away game against the combined team of Carrickfergus, Ards, Cooke, and Donaghadee (CACD) at Carrickfergus RFC, making the two-hour journey through Storm Bert.
From the start, it was clear the Skins were up against a talented and determined opponent.
After 15 minutes of hard-fought play, Enniskillen finally broke through the CACD defense with Alex Boyd scoring the opening try, assisted by Emma Fawcett.
The momentum continued as Sarah Conlin set up Orlaith Maguire for the second try, bringing the score to 0-10.
Skins soon added a third try, with Amy Meeke capitalizing on strong teamwork, especially contributions from Sophie Moore and Rianna Mulligan.
Just before halftime, Ciara O’Donnell, assisted by Madeline Hamill, and Leah Irwin added two more tries, pushing the lead to 0-29.
CACD managed to score early in the second half, but Skins quickly regained control. Orlaith Maguire scored her second try, supported by Mollie Magee and Jodie Thompson, followed by a well-executed try from Ellie Gordon in her return to the team, bringing the score to 5-41.
CACD added one more try, but Enniskillen answered with three more. Sarah Johnston, Freya Brennan, and Rebecca Read each crossed the line, with two conversions from Player of the Match Leah Irwin.
Irwin, captaining her team, led by example as Enniskillen wrapped up a commanding 60-12 victory, with all 16 players contributing to the impressive tally of 10 tries.
The Skins now prepare to defend their U18 Ulster Cup title, facing Cavan/Monaghan/CV in the first round on Wednesday, December 4, at Clogher Valley.
Kickoff is at 7.45 pm, and all supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer on the team.
