Enniskillen Royal Boat Club and ERGS Rugby Club celebrated a fantastic joint fundraiser, Night at the Oskars, last Saturday at the SilverBirch Hotel in Omagh.
The event was a tremendous success, bringing together the community for a memorable evening of entertainment and competition.
Judges Arlene Foster, Sally Rees, and Julian Fowler awarded eight Oskars across various categories. Clodagh Howe won Best Actress for her portrayal of Annie Wilkes in Misery, while George Foster took home the Best Actor Oskar for his role in Forrest Gump.
In supporting roles, Bex Powell was recognized as Best Supporting Actress for her character, Chris, in Calendar Girls.
A special joint Oskar went to James Pattison and Gareth Grey for their dynamic portrayal of rowing coaches in The Boys in the Boat.
The Shawshank Redemption took home the Best Location Oskar, and Sharon Elliott, who starred as Megan in Bridesmaids, won Best Comedy Scene—a well-deserved fan favourite.
The film Top Gun shot at the Royal British Legion Fivemiletown and the Ulster Aviation Society in Lisburn, was honored as the Highest Grossing Movie and also took the Audience Choice Oskar for Best Movie.
Dave Harrington served as MC for the evening, partnering with Kevin Rowe Events to deliver a smooth and engaging production.
Derek Holland, Head of Rowing, and the Head of Rugby at Enniskillen Royal Grammar School expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the event, especially the actors who dedicated so much effort into producing seven top-notch films.
The evening was a celebration of creativity, talent, and community spirit, all while raising crucial funds for the clubs.
